MASAMITSU KATSU

Born in Osaka in 1981, Katsu graduated from Musashino Art University’s Department of Scenography, Display, and Fashion Design. He is a painter who draws towns and people with pencil. He moved to Beppu City 12 years ago when the art version of Tokiwaso / Kiyoshima Apartment was established and has been working on activities rooted in the local community. He won the bronze prize of GEISAI#10 in 2006, and the Dentsu Prize of Sato Kashiwa Award. Recent exhibitions include Oita’s Artists CIAO! The Embryonic Movement of the Evolving Generation (Oita Art Museum, 2016) and 3331 ART FAIR (3331 Arts Chiyoda, 2019).
