MIKA AOKI

Aoki received her master’s degree in Ceramics and Glass from the Royal College of Art in London and studied in Iceland in 2017 as an intern with the Pola Art Foundation. She mainly works in glass, and her motifs are microscopic beings such as fungi and cells. Aoki focuses on the interconnectedness of visible and invisible things, and how life exists in a state of transformation. Recent exhibitions include the solo exhibition The Forest That Leads To You (Pola Museum Annex, 2017), Wild: Untamed Mind (21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, 2017), and Throughout Time: The Sense of Beauty (World Heritage Site Nijo-jo Castle, 2019).
