INE IZUMI

Like travelling, she moves through fields and lands while painting. In Beppu, she stayed at the Kiyoshima Apartments (2018) and spent two years traveling around Kyushu—including the Kunisaki Peninsula—before returning to the Kanto region. In recent years, she has held exhibitions of original artwork from the 45R seasonal catalogs, for which she created fashion illustrations, at Kogei Seika, Mizuho Oshiro Gallery, and Morioka Shoten. She has published several books, including Stories About the Book Sisters’ Book (Akaakasha), part of the “Unfinished Book Sisters” series that has been ongoing since 2008, and Pilgrim of the Starry Sky (written by Kazuhiro Seto, published by PURPLE), a collection of photographs and poetry featuring the 88 constellations for which she created the sketch illustrations.
